My shutter is kinda loud and sooo I didnt want to make a scene lol

Timmy's First Communion

Ive officially used up all of my flickr space. I would rather not have giant white boxes instead of pictures saying that flickr was holding them hostage so I tried photobucket today to see how it would work.
More of a hassle. but i dont know what else to do...

Project 365; Day 95

Today my brother had his first communion :] I have some more pictures I'll post later but right now its getting late.

We have church services on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and of course Easter.
The Saturday service is new, and we're gonna have candles and stuff. Im hoping I wont have too much trouble getting some good candle photos, because i think that could be pretty cool if i can get them to turn out. Maybeee i should practice. :] theres a thought, haha.

Iiim still behind with my 365 I guess. Im not sure how many days but I'll worry about that laterrr :]

Project 365; Day 94

SURPRISE.
I'm back. :]
I went back to the camera store yesterday and talked to a different person. He told me different things than the lady had told me on Saturday sooo that was a little weird.
He said there was a problem with my camera body AND my lens and I was freaking out again xD
So he kept it for a few hours and called me back and said that he fixed it. No sending it away, no cost, nothing, he just figured it out on his own.
AND I got my sensor cleaned. For cheaper than the lady said. o_O
YES.
So... I was happy with that, lol.
And it took less than a day. Awesome.

Anyways, these are some pictures I took of my brother today. I took him outside and he jumped in puddles and stuff. (because the snow is melting :] )

For this second one I wasnt happy with the tree sticking out of his head...
So I gaussian blurred the top half of the picture and erased where my brother was.
It looks kinda... eh. You can tell its fake I think...
Any suggestions how to convincingly blur the background out?

Since tomorrow is the day I will be sending away my lens and handing over my camera to get cleaned I'm taking a few days off. Im supposed to have my camera back within 24 hours but who knows how long my lens will be gone, lol. so hopefully everything comes back clean and fixed and stuff so life can go on as normal

Next week Im going to be in Wisconsin and I wont be able to post then either but I WILL (hopefully) be taking pictures and will post when I get back :]

In other news IT SNOWED TODAY. and then some more.

Project 365; Day 93

warning: rant ahead

Yesterday my 6 and 9 year old siblings were fighting and one of them pushed the other into my desk and my camera fell off and hit the floor. My 18-55mm lens will no longer auto-focus and it makes a really painful squeaking noise. So all I can really use is my 55-200mm lens. i started to remember how much of a pain that is, today....

The lady at the camera store said they could send it to Nikon for $40 but i dont know if its gonna cost extra to get it fixed. I guess its not supposed to cost more if its under 5 years old - which it is. Plus $25 to clean my sensor (or $99 if its really bad) which really needs cleaning so much its sad.

I wish I had the money to buy a new, better, lens, but I dont and that sucks.
(Or the D90 which cleans itself and comes with an 18-105mm, lol...)

it wouldnt be so bad if I had been the one to drop it (thats happened before...), but I just kinda had a mini-meltdown yesterday, i was furious! And I'm still mad about it, because my siblings don't seem to respect things that don't belong to them and they're just KIDS, its not like they have the money to pay for the repaid costs or to buy me a new lens. So I'm gonna pay for it.... and they don't even care.

This week has just SUCKED. i cant wait for it to be over.

I went to an open house today at my siblings' school. Its online but at the beginning and end of the year they have open houses to meet the teachers and stuff at the main office. I used to do that school too so I know some of the teachers and kids. Most of my teachers don't remember me but there are a couple that do, lol. This is one of the teachers who went on the D.C. trip and so thats how I know him. :]

these didnt turn out the way i wanted them to.
but i have no idea to make them look the way i can see them in my head.
I dont know :/
its supposed to be like reaching for something and then frustration
but im not 100% happy with them.
i also dont have the most photogenic hands xD
anyways, i have no idea whats off with these, i just dont completely like them.
maybe i'll try again some other time

It rained.
Actually it was hailing for a few minutes, and after that stopped i saw a rainbow and ran outside.
Of course in suburbia theres no escaping the houses and telephone poles/wires xD so this was the best i could do. Its a nice picture of the neighbors house at least, lol

While I was outside I was looking back into the woods that I blogged about earlier and it was awesome cuz the sun was all ridiculously bright for a few minutes and the trees were all sparkling from the sun reflecting off all the little droplets. It was awesome. So I unfocused my camera because I wanted to try and capture part of it x3

The clouds also looked amazing but I havent quite figured out how to creatively shoot clouds where I live and not get every single house and telephone wire and bush in the picture as well :P

Our neighbors' flowers are starting to grow.
We had one little purple crocus in our front yard and my 3 year old brother mutilated it before I could take a picture. =/
But there will be more I guess xD

The main focus of my health and fitness class has been... well. Health and fitness. xD
For the past couple lessons I've been reading about obesity and how its become such an epidemic. That seems to be such a popular word. anyways, I'd been meaning to start "jogging" again anyways and I saw this quote on the page and I had a "woah" moment, lol, and it made me stop and think. Two reasons.

1. Thats always my excuse. I don't have time. I think that's everyone's excuse. Everyones so "busy" theres just no time for anything.
2. If you just let yourself go, obesity slices off years of your life. You have less time. Why would you want that?

So that was kinda my push out the door I guess.
That and its warming up xD it'll be nicer but also the whole shorts and swim suits thing, lol
So i try to get up around 7ish, change and take my dog out with me. My goal is at least half an hour a day. So Im always home by 8am. Then its like I never even lost any time at all. Easy peasy. :] I do a lot of walking xD I dont know how people can jog constantly, but maybe I'm just a wimp. but still. I didn't flinch at the 30 on the thermometer :P I think thats saying something, lol. And I was reading that its recommended to exercise 3-5 days a week at least so I don't feel bad about taking weekends off or if it rains :]

So, its really not that hard... even if you start out taking ten minute walks around the block. It doesnt have to be dramatic, just a gradual change, and slowly add on to it while your body is adjusting. People just need the right motivation I think.

Sorry, this wasn't supposed to be this long xD But its just something thats been on my mind lately.
